I have been asked to make Late C17th style charge boxes for people who like to do their own leather work. This has been achieved by working out a price an emailing people, so I have decided, now is the time to formalise this and add the items to the shop. Please remember, like all the items in my shop, they need to be made and there is a list of orders to work through so you might like to ask for an estimate about how long it might take for yous to reach you.

Each box is a replica just like the originals and is drilled out for the string and has been dipped in ‘Salad Oyle’ three times, as done in the C17th but the string is not included and nor is the belt or touch box. They are available elsewhere on this shop. Whilst these are turned on the lathe, they require a lot of hand finishing to get the slender look and the string lugs on the sides.

A set is twelve boxes. That is because that is most likely the average on a bandolier, Should you require more, please contact me but I will not be selling charge boxes in small numbers unless they are replacements or additions to bandoliers that have previously been bought from me.  The C17th bandoliers that I’ve viewed do not have a touch box/primer, so they are not included with this set. There is a possibility the powder was fine enough for both muzzleloading and priming in this later period.
